US Embassy Dhaka marks Martin Luther King Jr Day

 The US Embassy in Dhaka on Monday observed Martin Luther King Jr. Day, paying tribute to the legendary civil rights leader and reaffirming the values of equality, justice and leadership.

In a post published on its official Facebook page, the embassy said that as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, it is celebrating leaders from the past and present who have shaped the nation’s journey. The message highlighted Dr Martin Luther King Jr’s enduring legacy and his role in advancing civil rights and democratic ideals.

Martin Luther King Jr Day is observed annually in the United States to honour the life and contributions of Dr King, who led the historic civil rights movement through non-violent activism and advocacy for racial equality and social justice.
